Patricia M. Ruppert

Co-Founder & Vice Chair of the Board

Patricia Ruppert is the Co-Founder and Vice Chair of the Board of Ruppert Grows. Ms. Ruppert currently serves as the Vice Chair of the Board of the Children’s Opportunity Alliance, a nonprofit organization that seeks to eliminate barriers and advocate for an equitable system of early childhood care and education in Montgomery County, Maryland. She previously served on the Board of both Ruppert Landscape and The Greater Washington Community Foundation. Additionally, Ms. Ruppert is an active Director of the Ruppert Family Foundation, which seeks to support childhood wellness and environmental justice through its charitable efforts.

Ms. Ruppert taught philosophy at Montgomery College for 13 years, where she received the NISOD Excellence Award, which recognizes individuals doing extraordinary work on their campuses. During her tenure at Montgomery College, Ms. Ruppert served as a mentor/educator for at-risk students enrolled in FutureLink. With her husband, Craig, she was a foster parent to an 8th grade girl who has grown up to be a long-time member of the Ruppert family. Ms. Ruppert has a BS in zoology from University of Maryland and a MA in theology from Washington Theological Union. She is a 35+ year practitioner of yoga, swims 2 miles per week and enjoys kayaking and reading. She and her husband have 4 children and 11 grandchildren, all of whom live nearby.
